Coil Coatings

PPG Polifarb Cieszyn S.A. as successfully produced coil coatings for 30 years, thus becoming an experienced and reliable partner for its key accounts, first of all for the steel giant, the Arcelor Mittal Group, with coil coating lines in Western Europe, Poland and Kazakhstan.

Coil coating application method is based on continuous line coating of metal coils by means of specially designed rollers.

PPG Polifarb Cieszyn S.A. produces coil coatings based on own technology.

Substrate types suitable for the coil coating application:

• Carbon steel coils
• Hot dip coated steel coils
• Electro-coated steel coils
• Aluminium and aluminium alloys coils.

Appropriate chemical pre-treatment shall be selected for each substrate.

may be divided into the following product groups:

1. Standard Polyester System.

The system consists of the following products:

• Universal polyester primer with film thickness of 5 – 7 microns.
• Standard polyester topcoat with film thickness of 19 – 21 microns.
• Polyester back-coat with film thickness of 8 - 10 microns.

• Universal polyester primer with film thickness of 5 – 7 microns.
• Extra High durability polyester topcoat with film thickness of 19 – 21 microns.
• Polyester back-coat with film thickness of 8– 10 microns.

The system provides high flexibility of coatings and good resistance to weather exposure, in particular UV resistance.

3. Plastisol System.

The system consists of the following products:

• Acrylic or epoxy polyester primer with film thickness of 5 – 7 microns.
• Thick layer PVC topcoat with film thickness of 100 – 200 microns.
• Epoxy back-coat with film thickness of 8 - 10 microns.

The system provides high flexibility of coatings and very good chemical resistance

4. Polyurethane System.

The system consists of the following products:

• Universal polyester primer with film thickness of 5 – 7 microns.
• Polyurethane topcoat with film thickness of 20 - 40 microns.
• Polyester back-coat with film thickness of 8 - 10 microns.

The system provides excellent flexibility of coatings and good resistance to weather exposure, in particular UV resistance.

5. PVDF System.

The system consists of the following products:

• Universal polyester primer with film thickness of 5 – 7 microns.
• PVDF topcoat with film thickness of 19 – 21 microns.
• Polyester back-coat with film thickness of 8 - 10 microns.

The system provides excellent flexibility of coatings, high chemical resistance and good resistance to weather exposure, in articular UV resistance.
